Asking for your ID details is common practice when booking a trip. When you board a plane or check into a hotel, your personal details are usually checked. Shortly after your booking, we also ask for your ID number (only that of the main booking person) and pass it on to the landlord of the finca you have booked. This is a requirement of the Ministry of Tourism on Mallorca and also has the advantage that the landlord can clearly identify you on the day of your arrival.
