In Mallorca, there is a so-called sealing ban in rural areas. According to this, most country roads may not be asphalted for environmental reasons and must be in the form of paved earth roads. These are therefore naturally very bumpy and sometimes have loose stones. In addition, bushes and tree branches can sometimes protrude far into the respective country lane. All of this makes access to the fincas, which are usually located in these rural surroundings, somewhat adventurous. The car rental companies in Mallorca are aware of this and are somewhat tolerant when it comes to returning a dusty rental car. Nevertheless, we recommend that you drive carefully and slowly along these roads in order to prevent any claims for reimbursement due to excessive scratches in the paintwork.
